Horde Leveling Guide
The guide will take you across the best Horde quests in the most efficient way(Broken up by zone), this will allow you to level up quickly in Wrath of the Lich King Classic.

🧭 The Beginning: Levels 1–58
This initial phase is about establishing your character and efficiently clearing the original content zones. Follow these steps in order.
Levels 1–11: Starting Zones
- The Path: Your specific starting zone (like the Valley of Trials for Orcs/Trolls or the Sunken Gardens for Blood Elves) is where you’ll begin. Focus on completing all local quests and class quests in your starting area.
- Goal: Reach level 11 and transition smoothly to your first major leveling zone.
Levels 12–19: Ghostlands
- The Path: Ghostlands is the superior leveling choice for this range, offering high quest density and manageable mob difficulty. The flow around Tranquillien is highly concentrated.
- Efficiency Tip: Focus on completing all quest chains before moving on. The mobs are generally close to the quest-givers.
Levels 20–24: The Barrens
- The Path: The classic Horde central hub. Head straight for The Crossroads and accept every quest available.
- Efficiency Tip: Plan a large, circular route to clear all the quests in one major loop before returning to turn them in.
Levels 25–29: Stonetalon Mountains
- The Path: A dense questing area that serves as a direct and efficient follow-up to The Barrens. The quest line is relatively straightforward and focused.
Levels 30–34: Thousand Needles
- The Path: The path through Thousand Needles is generally quick and focused. Complete the quest line here to hit your next target level.
Levels 35–39: Stranglethorn Vale (North)
- The Path: Begin your journey in the northern section of Stranglethorn. The main quest hubs are highly rewarding for experience.
Levels 40–44: Dustwallow Marsh
- The Path: This zone offers a convenient and contained quest line. Use it to gain quick levels before heading back to the south of Stranglethorn.
Levels 45–49: Stranglethorn Vale (South)
- The Path: Finish up the remaining, higher-level quests in the southern section of Stranglethorn, especially those leading to Booty Bay.
Levels 50–54: Hinterlands
- The Path: A strong zone to finish off the original content. The quest chains here are streamlined and provide great experience as you approach the next major phase.
Levels 55–58: Un’Goro Crater
- The Path: Complete your final original content levels here. Un’Goro offers high-XP quests and a manageable flow, perfectly preparing you to step through the Dark Portal into Outland.
🗺️ Phase Two: Levels 58–68 (Outland)
This phase accelerates your leveling speed dramatically. You are now in the Outland expansion content.
Levels 58–61: Hellfire Peninsula
- The Path: This is the mandatory starting zone for Outland. Head straight to Thrallmar (the Horde base) and accept every quest.
- Efficiency Tip: Prioritize the massive quest chains here, including the initial dungeon quests for Hellfire Citadel. You must move through this zone quickly to avoid falling behind the curve.
Levels 62–63: Zangarmarsh
- The Path: A relatively fast zone to complete after the initial rush of Hellfire. The quests around Zabra’jin offer a focused experience.
Levels 64–65: Terokkar Forest
- The Path: Focus your efforts on the quests found at Shattrath City. This central hub will drive your progression through the zone.
Levels 66–67: Nagrand
- The Path: A highly efficient and rewarding zone. Nagrand offers some of the highest-XP quests for this level range. Use the Nesingwary Camp to quickly burn through the repeatable tasks.
Levels 67–68: Blade’s Edge
- The Path: Use this zone to collect the necessary experience to hit Level 68. The goal is simple: get to 68 to officially begin your journey to Northrend.
❄️ The End is Near! Levels 68–80 (Northrend)
Welcome to the content of Wrath of the Lich King Classic! You are on the final stretch to the level cap.
Levels 68–70: Borean Tundra
- The Path: This is the recommended starting zone for Horde in Northrend due to its centralized hub at Warsong Hold and excellent quest density. Complete the main quest lines here to smoothly transition to the next zone.
Levels 71–72: Howling Fjord
- The Path: The second starting zone for Northrend. You will move here directly after clearing Borean Tundra. The quests around Vengeance Landing will bridge the gap to the mid-70s.
Levels 73–74: Dragonblight
- The Path: A critical zone for the Northrend story and your leveling path. The quests here are highly centralized and essential for transitioning to the later regions.
Levels 75–76: Grizzly Hills
- The Path: A beautiful zone that offers high quest density and great experience rewards. This is a very efficient and often fast zone to complete.
Levels 76–77: Zul’Drak
- The Path: An excellent zone for pure experience gain, though it can be slightly more challenging solo. Focus on the main camps and quest chains to push through this range.
Level 78: Sholazar Basin
- The Path: A short, high-XP zone. The quest density, especially around the initial flight path and the Nesingwary Camp, allows you to burn through this level very quickly.
Levels 79–80: Storm Peaks
- The Path: The final, highest-level zone. This region will carry you the rest of the way. Focus on the main chains here, as they offer the largest experience chunks necessary to hit the Level 80 cap.
